The Church---Where did it come from? At the close of the Old Testament, there were not any churches. During Jesus' life there were not any churches. Did they just magically appear? No. As Jesus was concluding his earthly ministry, he announced to his closest followers, and specifically Peter, that he would be the foundation for this new gathering of people called "the church". Not a building, but a people. A movement would be born. Connections would be made. This is part one of our three part series on the church. Our text for the day was Matthew 16:13-19.
